Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
